NNY - Open Toolkits
You can use the following tools to create buildings in NeoNewYork, with more coming in the future.
NeoNewYork supports the .obj file format, with the following requirements: - 10,000 polygons per plain - file size: 150MB
🧪Pilot version: (the two paragraphs below may still be subject to change as it's in development) A single lot has a height limit of 32m, while combined lots consisting of 4 or more land lots are unlimited in terms of height. 🧪
The height of the general floor is limited to four meters. If the 1st to 8th floors on the ground are used for business, the floor height can be six meters per floor. Each plot requires a 2 meter building concession/dividing margin (meaning each plot must be two meters away from the street, or borders of other plots/buildings).🧪
<-an example of a floor plan
If you wish to erect certain buildings that would have to bypass the floor height limit, e.g., a cathedral, gym, etc., submit a request and we'll respond shortly.
Unity
Unity is a cross-platform game engine with a built-in IDE developed by Unity Technologies. It is used to develop video games for web plugins, desktop platforms, consoles and mobile devices. This being said, it can also be used to create virtual environments.
The engine is written in C# and provides a high degree of software & hardware portability, supporting a wide range of desktop, mobile, console and virtual reality platforms.
This tool is already supported by our project, allowing you to create games as well as environments with ease.
Unreal Engine
Unreal Engine is also a cross-platform game engine with a built-in IDE developed by Epic Games.
Initially developed for PC first-person shooters, it has since been used in a variety of genres of 3D games and has seen adoption by other industries, most notably the film and television industry. Written in C++, the Unreal Engine features a high degree of software & hardware portability, supporting a wide range of desktop, mobile, console and virtual reality platforms.
This tool will be supported by our ecosystem shortly, as it is similar to Unity.
Other tools, such as Blender, 3D Studio Max, Maya, SketchUp are also supported.

Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline—modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation. ... Blender is cross-platform and runs equally well on Linux, Windows, and Macintosh computers.
What is Autodesk 3ds Max used for? The highly popular and professional 3D graphics software for 3D animation, models, games, and images, Autodesk 3ds Max is used by television commercial studios, video game developers, architectural visualization studios, as well as for movie effects and pre-visualization.
Maya is an animation and modeling program used to create three-dimensional ( 3-D ), full-motion effects. ... In addition to simulating the movements of objects and particles, Maya makes it possible to portray emotions in animated characters by enhancing facial expressions and the realism of body language.
SketchUp is a 3D modeling computer program for a broad range of drawing and design applications — including architectural, interior design, industrial and product design, landscape architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, theater, film and video game development.
Bear in mind, you don't have to possess any extravagant 3D-modelling skills, since you can simply import .obj files, whether you download them online, or buy them, you don't necessarily have to build everything or anything yourself.
